ICNA HQ Renovation Enters Phase II

ICNA HQ Renovation Enters Phase II

Aug 17, 2010

The renovation of ICNA headquarters in Queens, NY is making significant progress. By Ramadan, the basement, first, and second floors were ready for Taraweeh prayers. Also, the newly revamped third floor is almost complete. ICNA held a fundraiser for the headquarters on July 31st in the Al-Markaz building, and Muhammad Tariqur Rahman, Secretary General of ICNA, is now requesting everyone’s help. “We request the continued support of the American community for the completion of this highly anticipated project,” he said.

The improved headquarters will have two additional floors, which makes a total of five floors including the basement. Access to all floors will be made simple by brand new elevators. There will be prayer space for over 1,000 people and more than enough space to host educational institutions like the Islamic Learning Foundation and the Institute of Islamic Sciences for sisters. Offices will be located on the top floor of the building, with the bookstore remaining on the first floor. A banquet hall will be available for the community on the second and third floors. The total cost of the extensive renovation is only $1.2 million and is expected to be completed within one year, inshaAllah. Please donate generously by clicking here.
