NEW YORK, NY (November 4, 2013) – With Election Day only a day away, the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) encourages all American Muslims who are registered voters to get out and vote this Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

Through exercising their rights to vote, ICNA believes Muslims can demonstrate that the Muslim community is not one to be ignored, but a community that cares about the direction of our country.

In order to encourage American Muslims across the US to exercise their right to vote on Tuesday, ICNA will be taking part in various measures. Among these, this Monday, November 4th ICNA will be sending mass emails to their 80,000 subscribers, and Robocalls to more than 10,000 Muslim homes. On the Social Media spectrum, ICNA will be utilizing its strong presence of over 100,000 associates on sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to encourage Muslims everywhere to get out and vote, utilizing the hashtag #MuslimVote.

The Islamic Circle of North America is a leading American Muslim organization dedicated to the betterment of society through the application of Islamic values. Since 1968, ICNA has worked to build relations between communities by devoting itself to education, outreach, social services and relief efforts.

First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah

The inclusion of poor in our festivity must be done without which we cannot complete our service to Allah SWT. How many societies the poor is left out of the pie and the rich eats the entire pie. A few weeks ago, we celebrated Eid-ul Fitr. And on that Eid, we enjoy its virtues by giving the Zakaat-ul Fitr to the poor before we begin the Eid prayer. This Eid we have to complete its celebration by giving 1/3 of the meat to the poor and needy. As Allah SWT says: Then eat thereof and feed therewith the poor who have a very hard time. (22:28) EID MUBAARAK!
