(Houston, Sept 22, 2019) – ICNA Council for Social Justice helped coordinate what could be the largest protest in American history against a foreign politician.

While Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi attracted one of the largest receptions for a foreign head of state, nearly 20,000 people protested against him and the policies of his government in Houston, Texas yesterday on September 22, 2019.
ICNA CSJ Texas Chapter was involved from the beginning along with several other organizations in planning for the massive protests. Over 300 organizers and volunteers worked non-stop in arranging for the logistics and in publicizing the protests and making sure no untoward incident occurred.

First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah

First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah

The inclusion of poor in our festivity must be done without which we cannot complete our service to Allah SWT. How many societies the poor is left out of the pie and the rich eats the entire pie. A few weeks ago, we celebrated Eid-ul Fitr. And on that Eid, we enjoy its virtues by giving the Zakaat-ul Fitr to the poor before we begin the Eid prayer. This Eid we have to complete its celebration by giving 1/3 of the meat to the poor and needy. As Allah SWT says: Then eat thereof and feed therewith the poor who have a very hard time.
