NEW YORK, NY (July 16, 2015) – The Islamic Circle of North American condemns Thursday’s deadly attack by a gunman on a military recruitment center and a reserve facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee that left four marines dead.
“This is a horrific act of violence,” ICNA president Naeem Baig sorrowfully observed. “We stand united with our fellow Americans and all persons of good conscience in condemning this senseless outrage that threatens the safety of all of us.”
“We offer our deepest condolences to the families, colleagues, and friends of those whose lives were so brutally taken. They are in our thoughts and prayers,” Baig continued.
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. It serves as both a reminder of one of the most traumatizing occurrences to unfold on American soil and as a testimony to the resilience of every community living here in America.
