ICNA condemns separation of children & parents at border

WASHINGTON D.C. (June 19, 2018) – ICNA Council for Social Justice condemns the Trump Administration’s current policy of separating children from their parents crossing the southern border.

While it is important to implement a viable border security, we believe using parental fear of losing their child as a deterrent, is inhumane and immoral by any standards.
ICNA demands President Trump to immediately put a stop to this barbaric practice.
Furthermore ICNA urges the White house to stop blocking funds meant for the Office of Refugee Resettlement which are distributed to organizations providing legal representation to these children. Without these services the children end up separated from their parents for months and years.
ICNA also appeals everyone to support the organizations helping these children with generous donations and to volunteer. We also encourage everyone to participate in local rallies happening around the country on June 30th. To find a local rally in your area on June 30th, please click here.

First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah

The inclusion of poor in our festivity must be done without which we cannot complete our service to Allah SWT. How many societies the poor is left out of the pie and the rich eats the entire pie. A few weeks ago, we celebrated Eid-ul Fitr. And on that Eid, we enjoy its virtues by giving the Zakaat-ul Fitr to the poor before we begin the Eid prayer. This Eid we have to complete its celebration by giving 1/3 of the meat to the poor and needy. As Allah SWT says: Then eat thereof and feed therewith the poor who have a very hard time. (22:28) EID MUBAARAK!
