Masjid and ICNA Headquarters Construction

Masjid and ICNA Headquarters Construction

Jun 10, 2010

The ICNA headquarters in Queens, New York was purchased in 1984 and became the center of Islamic work in North America. Now, 26 years later, construction has begun to expand the headquarters to better serve the developing needs of the organization.

The improved headquarters will be located on the top floor of the building, with the bookstore remaining on the first floor. A banquet hall will be available for the community on the second and third floors. The total cost of the extensive renovation is $1.2 million and is expected to be completed within one year.

hq1The construction will add two additional floors, which makes a total of five floors including the basement. Access to all floors will be made simple with brand new elevators. There will be praying space for over 1,000 people and more than enough space to host educational institutions like ILF and the Institute of Islamic Sciences for sisters. “We request the continued support of the American community for the completion of this highly anticipated project,” said ICNA’s Secretary General, Tariq ur Rahman.

“With the help of the community and their prayers, we will see the headquarters that ICNA has needed for a long time.”
