About National Dawah Academy

The National Dawah Academy completed the inaugural semester. This academy is an ICNA initiative consolidating Dawah courses by WhyIslam and GainPeace. The goal of the academy is to empower and educate the wider Muslim community in the field of Dawah, to non-Muslims.

Summer Semester
The second semester will run from May 28th and end on August 26th.  Six (6) courses will be offered during summer semester.  All courses are ONLINE using LMS platform, Moodle.  Early registration fee for each course is $50. It will increase to $69 after May 1st.  Inshaa Allah, at the end of summer semester, we expect to have our 1st batch receive certification for Level 1.

Diploma Program
In completing and passing all 15 courses, trainees/students will acquire a Diploma in Field Dawah Studies.  There are three levels to the Diploma program.  Each level (comprised of 5 courses) will also grant certification.

Importance of Dawah

Dawah is an integral part of the Islamic tradition. Both the Quran and Sunnah stress on the importance of dawahs. Learn how crucial dawah is to a Muslim’s spiritual development as well as the propagation of Allah’s deen.

Many Prophets, One Message

All the prophets preached and delivered the same message of Islamic monotheism. The course goes into how to conduct dawah in reference to the lives of the prophets, and demonstrate that it was all for the same one message.

Intro to Dawah Methodologies

There are many approaches to giving dawah; some more effective than others. This intro course dives into the various dawah methodologies and focuses on strategy in conveying the message of Islam with reason and compassion.

Misconceptions about Islam

Islamophobia continue to be on the rise as media sources feed false narratives. Topics in this course include effectively responding to misconceptions in relation to women’s rights, human rights, Shariah law, sanctity of life, and more.

Dawah to Latino and African American Communities

Hispanics and African Americans are the largest growing minorities in the United States and are generally a religiously inclined people. Islam has deep roots in African-American history. Hispanics are also the fastest growing minority in Islam.

Emotional Intelligence

Understanding the psychological state of those you meet on the field is crucial. Every person comes with his or her own story, baggage, and issues which have led them to their current belief or worldview. This course develops this skill.

Sh. Abdur Rahman Khan

Sh. AbdurRahman Khan is a graduate of the Islamic University in Madinah Munawwarah, in the faculty of Shari’ah (Islamic Jurisprudence).
Dr. Sabeel Ahmed

Dr. Sabeel Ahmed is the Director of the GainPeace Dawah project. Dr. Sabeel has been involved in dawah work for over 15 years. Dr. Sabeel is a student of Shaykh Ahmed Deedat.
Prof Hijazi

Prof Hijazi is the founding member of ICNA National Dawah Academy.  He also leads WhyIslam Field Dawah among other responsibilities.
Professor Shareef Muhammad

Professor Shareef Muhammad has taught Islamic Studies and African-American studies at Spelman University.  He is part of the Black Dawah Network’s think-tank.
Dr. Hernán Guadalupe

Dr. Hernán Guadalupe, whose family is from Ecuador, embraced Islam in 2001.  Dr. Hernan is the co-founder of Hablamos Islam and also active with WhyIslam.  He has PhD in Business Administration.
Sh. Isa ibn Matta

Sh. Isa ibn Matta joins us from ICNA Dallas / WhyIslam. Sh. Isa majored in Psychology and Philosophy.  He also has certifications in Mental Health and Project Management.
Dr. Marwan Mohammad

Dr. Marwan Mohammad is the President of the Ask A Muslim Dawah organization. He has over 20 years of experience in field Dawah. He is a Medical Doctor by profession.
