April 16, 2019, Washington D.C. – The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) will hold its annual ICNA-MAS Convention at the Washington D.C. Convention Center during the Easter Weekend of April 19-21.

Twenty five thousand people are expected to attend the 44th convention at a new location, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The 2.3 million square foot center includes one of the largest halls in the country and has hosted some of America’s largest events.
A record number of nearly 200 speakers from various backgrounds and specialties will be speaking at the event whose theme is “Healing Humanity: Lessons from Islam”. The nearly 250 sessions include programs for children of all ages, women, teens as well as sessions in nearly a dozen languages including English and Spanish.
The convention will feature a record size bazaar with over 620 booths that will sell everything from tours and insurances to clothing and books. The bazaar area will also have a large children’s play area as well as a food court big enough to cater to the tastes of thousands of attendees.
In the past 5 decades this convention has become a must-go-to event on the national American Muslim family calendar. An entire generation of American Muslim families grew up attending the ICNA convention and have made it the event to reunite with their friends and families and and share memories.

First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah

The inclusion of poor in our festivity must be done without which we cannot complete our service to Allah SWT. How many societies the poor is left out of the pie and the rich eats the entire pie. A few weeks ago, we celebrated Eid-ul Fitr. And on that Eid, we enjoy its virtues by giving the Zakaat-ul Fitr to the poor before we begin the Eid prayer. This Eid we have to complete its celebration by giving 1/3 of the meat to the poor and needy. As Allah SWT says: Then eat thereof and feed therewith the poor who have a very hard time.
