Countering Islamophobia – TV Ads on Comcast
There is no doubt that Islamophobia is at its peak in US. More than ever there is a need to counter the Islam smearing campaign launched by the conservative right. ICNA Bay Area partnered with USA network as part of NBC Universal media group for a month long campaign to promote religious tolerance in US.
TV commercials featuring CharactersUnite.com and WhyIslam.org were broadcast for 2 weeks in April 11, 2011. 130 Ads appeared on A&E, AMC, Animal Planet, CNN, Planet Green, Hallmark, History, Headlines Network, MSNBC, National Geographic, Oprah Winfrey Network, Travel Channel, The Weather Channel, and USA Network.
