I apologize for my tone, and losing my patience. I felt that you were unnecessarily (and wrongly) implying that ICNA is a sectarian organization which it clearly is not.

I never asked to prove that you were a Muslim. I was saying if you are accusing ICNA of being sectarian (contrary to its own charter) then I would have to ask you to explain how you came to that conclusion.

Again I apologize if my phraseology offended you.

  • Ahmad Salam Adebayo, November 7, 2010:

Salam alaykum, we should uphold the brotherhood which prophet(saw) taught us and sahaba irrespective of ur group, WATESIMU BI ABULILLAHI JEMI’A WALA TAFARAKU.

  • Inayat, October 21, 2010:

I agree. Azeem, your tone in your email is totally uncalled for. Comming from Islamic culture and background and for you to claim to be representing ICNA, the proverb that uses a reference to a dog is totally uncalled for in my view.

Dont answer emails if you are having a bad day. Eevery one knows that rule OR else find something else to do with your time.

  • Fawad Hasan, October 18, 2010:

@….Azeem, i always asked for the link and you provided it this time but not in your last post. Thats the difference and that is all i was looking for. So Thank you for that.

@….Secondly i am not trying to bark up any tree because i simply dont bark or squeel for that matter. You sound much better and approachable in the video, but i guess that was the camera.

@…. Thirdly I am surprised that you will get so hostile towards me in your reply for simply asking a LEGITIMATE question because i dont want to support sects.

@…Let me advice you, your attitude and your handling of situations shows the maturity and professionalism that you want to convery about your organization and frankely you did a very lousy job with your last email. I am sure there are many good natured and patient people who would do a better job then you representing ICNA and/or answering the type of emails like that of mine. “Dont play the game if you dont like the rules”.

@.. And NO, Absolutely not, i dont have to proove to you whether i am a muslim or not. You can think of me anything you want, My faith is between me and my maker. You need to proove yourselves to us – ummah – becasue you claim to represent us. On the flip side what difference deos that make whether i am msulim or not? Lets say i am Christian, why cant i still ask you if you are a secetarian organization or non-secetarian? and if you are secetarian then its unfair for you to ask donations from the very people who you dont represent. What is wrong with that line of logic and reasoning?

    Have a nice day.

  • Azeem, October 7, 2010:

I already answered your question on another post. If you are going to make a claim as a Muslim you have to back it up with proof.

Secondly you are barking up the wrong tree. ICNA’s constitution states that ICNA is a non-sectarian organization.

  • Fawad Hasan, October 4, 2010:

I am still waiting….! I would like to be pointed as to where does it say in your constitution/Charter that you are non-secetarian organization fighting for the rights of all the muslims?

I have started to sound like a broken drum but some how i am not getting any answers from you guys ICNA. I will still keep trying..!

@………OR else you should declare that you are not the respresentative of all Muslims but whatever certain sect it is.

@….. only ask for donations and volunteerism from that particular sect.

@ above all STOP asking for the rights from Non muslisms, the rights that you are not willing to offer to others muslims among yourselves..!

  • Fawad Hasan, September 29, 2010:

Thanks Omer, i like the word “sect-blind”, I am still waiting for ICNAs response to point us as to where it says in their constitution and/or charter that they are non secetarian, non denominational working for the rights of ALL those who beleive “There is no God and Muhammad is his Messanger”.

Meanwhile i will keep supporting CAIR since they have it on their website to be working for the rights of ALL muslims.

  • Omer A, September 22, 2010:

I agree with you Fawad. We should stand united or else we will fall divided. We should live among each other with mutual respect and tolerance and with others without giving away our fundamental rights and beliefs. And i absolutely agree that these organizations that represent us should be “sect-blind”.

  • Fawad Hasan, September 13, 2010:

    @Azeem Khan in video?

Mr Khan, i have been trying to find out the nature of ICNA and am not getting any answers to it? My questions to you are Firstly, is ICNA a secetarian orgnanization trying to defend the rights of a particular sect or whether its an organization protecting and defending the rights of ALL the muslims, regardless of their sects? Secondly does it say in your consistution if you are a non secetarion, non denominational organization protecting the rights of ALL the muslims regardless of its color, creed, sect, etc and where does it say that? Point me to it please?

I would urge the American Muslim Ummah and those who want to unite Ummah to ask such questions from all organizations that claim to support you and need your money and time, because to me supporting an organization that stands up for any particular sect in my humble view is sowing the seeds of secetarianism thats going to bloom tomorrow for our children and comming generations in US. Being an American muslim i dont want them for my children, i want them to live in unity with everyone. Secondly to me its height of hypocracy if you demand certian rights for yourselves but are not willing to give the same rights within yourselves. We need to know if thats happening.

Mr. Khan can you please clarify publically in response to my query? As far as i am concerned and i declare this openly that i will not, absolutely not support any organization that is secetarian in its nature and not even spend a single dollar or waste a single second my time on them but try to question them every change that i get? Isnt this hypocrasy that an organization wants my money and time but is not wiling to stand up for my rights simply because lets say i am a sufi?

    Wasalam,
    Fawad Hasan.
