icnalogo.pngDr. Khurshid Khan, the Ameer (president) of Islamic Circle of North America, said in a statement issued Saturday morning that he was deeply shocked and grieved by the loss of life and destruction caused by the earthquake that hit Pakistan, with impact extending into Kashmir, Afghanistan and India.

“Muslims all over north America would be standing behind their brothers and sisters in this time of great trial and tribulation. We ask Allah (SWT) for His mercy and forgiveness in this blessed month of Ramadan. We offer our heartfelt condolences to all those who lost their dear and near ones. May Allah (SWT) grant them solace and Sabr (patience and forbearance) in these extremely difficult times.”

Dr. Khan said that ICNA Relief has joined forces with local and governmental relief organizations to provide immediate assistance to victims of this disaster. ICNA Relief has launched a major fund raising campaign in the United States and has allocated Half Million Dollors  in immediate funds with a target of $1 Million in the month of Ramadan. ICNA Relief is reaching out to all communities in North America for donations and relief support.

Dr. Khurshid Khan has called upon the Muslim Ummah to come to the help of the victims of this disaster with an unparalleled generosity. He expressed his faith in Allah (SWT) and the generosity of the Muslims and non-Muslims alike in this time of great test.
