No figure in the history is a greater unifier of the world's prophetic traditions than Prophet Abraham (may Allah's peace and blessings be on him). Also known as Abraham, Jews, Christians and Muslims alike view him as the patriarch of their faith.
To honor the tradition of the great prophet, ICNA Relief annually celebrates Abraham's Day right after Eidul Adha. It is a day for hundreds of volunteers to exemplify that prophetic characteristic of goodwill by providing hot meals and other necessities to the downtrodden. Men and women, young and old, come together across national, racial, ethnic and religious divides, unified in their aim of community service. This year Abraham's Day was celebrated in the bay area on January 19th. Muslims who made the traditional animal sacrifice on Eidul Adha contributed 400 pounds of goat meat. 100 pounds of beef was contributed by the Hidaya Foundation. With this more than 1400 meals were served.

The Islamic Circle of North America co-psonsored an Appreciation Dinner honoring Hassan Askari and Walter Adler in which more than 150 Muslims from more than 35 Muslim Organizations congregated on a bitterly cold night in a restaurant in Jamaica, Queens. Dr. Khurshid Khan, President of Islamic Circle of North America presented Awards to both Hassan Askari and Walter Adler.
Hassan by now has become a household name for many Muslim families living in the Tri-State area. He leaped to the defense of a group when he saw two couples being pummeled by a group yelling anti-Semitic slurs during the holiday season on a train ride on the Q. Walter Adler and Maria Parsheva happened to be the couple and were honorary guests during the dinner that applauded Hassan’s admirable heroism. Mr. Askari embodies the principles of courage, strength and love for fellow Americans as taught by the Quran and Sunnah. The Dinner was therefore a salute to Mr. Askari for putting himself in harms way which resulted in worldwide overage of Islam and Muslims in a positive light. Council Member James F. Genarro, representative of District 24 of Queens, was also one of many who gave a speech about “our common humanity” and commending the work of Hassan. For many, Hassan’s deed was an extension of his Islamic upbringing.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
American Muslims are appalled at the assassination of former prime minister of Pakistan Ms. Benazir Bhutto and the killing of dozens of people in Rawalpindi. We condemn this heinous action and its perpetrators. Our heartfelt condolences go for the bereaved family, who have gone through such tragedies time and again.
It is unfortunate and unacceptable that anyone would resort to means of violence in order to affect political change. The extremists are enemies of Islam and humanity. All peace-loving people must unite against them. We pray and hope that the people of Pakistan, a majority Muslim country, observe the Islamic virtue of patience and refrain from rioting and the escalation of violence. The perpetrators of this attack must be brought to justice in a court of law as soon as possible.

A great dai and murabbi has passed away today, December 27, 2007 in
Houston, Texas. His tajheezo tadfeen will take place in Houston
after Friday prayer on Dec. 28th. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi
raajioon.
Having known Moulana Mohammad Naseem since my childhood in
the sixties, I have witnessed his dedicated life in the service of Allah (S)
from different angles. He was a devout member of the Islamic Movement of
India, Ameer of Lucknow unit and a member of the U. P. state shura. He
edited "Nai Naslen" organ of the Idara Adabe Islami Hind for
more than two decades. Himself a fiction writer and a humorist, Imam
Naseem was a jewel of fine Luckmow culture and an Islamic movement
activist. A very practical and pragmatic personality, he had special
skills to influence people's thoughts and emotions. He was a great trainer
and his knowledge of the Qur'an and Sunnah was very profound. He always
reminded people of the manners of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He was equally
popular as a speaker and as a murabbi among men, women, youth, and children.
