NEW YORK, NY (December 8, 2015) – ICNA Relief USA, a Muslim faith-based charity supports New York Disaster Interfaith Services (NYDIS) call to protest discrimination against any religious group. ICNA Relief is an active member of NYDIS and is engaged in various social-service projects throughout the United States.

ICNA Relief seeks to alleviate human suffering by providing caring and compassionate service to victims of adversities and survivors of disasters. It strives to build healthy communities, strengthen families and create opportunities for those in despair while maintaining dignity and advocating for basic human needs.
Currently, it is operating 11 shelter homes for women and children, 19 food pantries, 4 free clinics, and 6 family counseling centers and has responded to 39 disasters in 19 states since 9/11. In the aftermath of hurricane Sandy more than 400 volunteers were on the ground serving people of all faiths. Its staff and volunteers are saddened by careless statements made by some politicians and feels that calls for religious discrimination negatively impacts our society and is a great disservice to our country.
