ICNA Relief Sets up Disaster Response support hotline @ 888-616-6865

Hurricane Isaac is moving slowly northwest along the coast of southeast Louisiana, and dangerous storm surge conditions continue all along the Gulf Coast, the National Hurricane Center said in its 9 P.M. ET update. The Category 1 hurricane still had maximum sustained winds of 80 mph; hurricane-force winds extended 60 miles out from the center of the storm.

The center of the storm made landfall in Plaquemines Parish late Tuesday. Storm warnings and watches stretch across Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. ICNA Relief encourages those in the affected region to be prepared for the possible effects of this hurricane. As it has been proven time and time again, hurricanes are highly unpredictable. If you live in the area of possible landfall, you should be prepared for local flooding, power outages, and falling trees or roof damage.
ICNA Relief has relocated its response headquarters from Birmingham, AL to Baton Rouge, LA and has set up 4 help centers– one each in Baton Rouge, LA, Jackson, MS, Lafayette, LA and Beaumont, TX for the evacuees. ICNA Relief is working with local Islamic centers and other governmental and faith-based organizations to help survivors in response and recovery phases.
