Miami, FL (Sept. 8, 2017) – ICNA Relief USA, the only Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved American Muslim relief agency for disaster services, is monitoring Hurricane Irma’s path as it barrels towards Florida after pummeling Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands.

After causing massive destruction in the Caribbean, Irma hits the US territory of Puerto Rico and is now headed to Florida.
ICNA Relief teams are standing ready and standing still in Florida while awaiting FEMA’s plan for affected states and territories. ICNA Relief urges everyone to keep the hurricane hit communities in Puerto Rico, Florida and Texas in their prayers.

Volunteers are currently shuttering windows for elderly neighbors in South Florida while ICNA Relief is collaborating with 13 mosques in Georgia to serve as temporary shelters for hurricane evacuees. Local office in Central Florida is also providing local mosques acting as shelters with in-kind donations such as food and hygiene products.
ICNA Relief’s Disaster Relief Services are actively engaged in disaster recovery in Texas after hurricane Harvey. It also continues to provide the services in Louisiana after last year’s floods.

ICNA Relief offices in coordination with ICNA chapters across the country have responded to over 50 disasters nationwide in the past decade.
If you live in an area under evacuation orders, please evacuate safely now.
