LA Times Festival of Books WhyIslam Booth – 2011

LOS ANGELES, California (April 22, 2011) — This weekend, WhyIslam, a project of ICNA, dedicated to eradicating misconceptions about Islam, is handing out free literature and translated copies of the Qur’an at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at the University of Southern California (USC) on April 30 and May 1.

Last year, WhyIslam handed out 4640 copies of the Qur’an and more than 8,000 pamphlets and audio CD’s at the event that has now become the largest Muslim outreach booth in America.

ICNA Bay Area partnered with USA network as part of NBC Universal media group for a month long campaign to promote religious tolerance in US.

 

TV commercials featuring CharactersUnite.com and WhyIslam.org were broadcast for 2 weeks in April 11, 2011. 130 Ads appeared on A&E, AMC, Animal Planet, CNN, Planet Green, Hallmark, History, Headlines Network, MSNBC, National Geographic, Oprah Winfrey Network, Travel Channel, The Weather Channel, and USA Network.
