ICNA Announces National Campaign Against Hunger
The Islamic Circle of North America is launching a month-long National Campaign Against Hunger during the month of October 2010. The National Campaign Against Hunger aims to tackle hunger from both a social service and social justice perspective. This initiative follows “Save Family Save Society,” a grassroots national family campaign successfully held by ICNA in October 2009.

Franklin Islam Center Opens Doors to Public for Iftar

Family Retreat Connects with Nature
ICNA’s Family Retreat was held in Harrisburg, PA at the Gifford Pinochet park from July 3rd to 5th. More than 60 families, totaling over 200 individuals, attended the retreat. It was an atmosphere where people prayed together and enjoyed together. Some highlights were food, volleyball, badminton, cycling, and a campfire with a barbecue.

ICNA Relief Opens Office in Boston
ICNA Relief USA, a Domestic Faith Based Social Service and Disaster Relief Organization, recently opened its newly established office in Massachusetts located at 222 Broadway (inside the Casablanca Cafe), Chelsea, MA 02150. ICNA-MAS Convention Enjoys a 15% Growth

As Iqbal Shariff glanced around the Youth Conference hall, he noted something new. This year, the first two rows were reserved exclusively for a group of deaf Muslims. WhyIslam Sets Record again at LA Festival of Books

Accommodating thousands of visitors at the Los Angeles Festival of Books at UCLA, WhyIslam Southern California handed out a record 4,640 copies of the Qur’an at the biggest and busiest booth to teach about Islam, this past weekend on April 24-25. This is the 6th consecutive year for the booth.

WhyIslam fundraising event raises money, awareness

On Saturday, April 10, 2010, the WhyIslam project’s Southern California chapter gathered for its sixth annual WhyIslam fundraising banquet, raising a total of $75,000 through donations, and an auction made up of items donated from the community. This year’s total marks a record amount raised for the organization, according to the ICNA Chapter’s Dawah Committee Chairman, Amir Mertaban.
