NEW YORK, NY (July 28, 2013) – The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) condemns yesterday’s massacre of scores of peaceful protestors and demands an immediate cessation of U.S. military aid to Egypt. The Egyptian military must safeguard the lives and properties of all Egyptians and must not become a hurdle for Egyptian democracy.

Yesterday’s massacre of more than 50 civilians with over 500 injured, and the killing of individuals in Alexandria are horrendous crimes. This attack is one of the deadliest incidents in recent months in Egypt.
